Saxon fine watchmaking manufacture A. Lange & Söhne marks twenty years of one of its most celebrated technical achievements with the debut of the new DATOGRAPH PERPETUAL (Ref. 410.136E). Originally introduced in 2006 as the brand’s first wristwatch uniting a flyback chronograph with a perpetual calendar and outsize date, this new edition in 950 platinum with an integrated bracelet reinterprets the grand complication with remarkable sophistication, highlighted by eleven hand-applied baguette-cut diamonds as hour markers.

Two Decades of an Iconic Architecture
First launched two decades ago, the DATOGRAPH PERPETUAL demonstrated Glashütte’s technical prowess by combining two of mechanical watchmaking’s most demanding complications into a harmonious, highly legible layout. In this 50-piece limited edition, the manufacture houses the 41.0 mm diameter and 13.5 mm thick case in dense 950 platinum.
The timepiece is paired with a five-row platinum bracelet seamlessly integrated into the case, featuring alternating brushed and polished surfaces that showcase the precious metal’s unique luster while offering exceptional wrist comfort.

Black Dial with Diamond Accents
The deep black 925 silver dial sets the stage for an equilateral triangular display arrangement. At 12 o’clock, the iconic Lange outsize date sits framed by a pair of baguette diamonds. The base of the triangle is formed by two rhodié-coloured sub-dials positioned slightly below the horizontal axis at 9 and 3 o’clock.

Eleven hand-applied baguette-cut diamonds (totaling approx. 0.13 carats) serve as hour markers, adding refined elegance. At 6 o’clock, the moon-phase display rounds off the astronomical functions, engineered to deviate by only one day after 122.6 years of continuous operation.

Precision Mechanics: Calibre L952.1
Visible through the sapphire-crystal caseback is the intricate movement of the in-house manually wound L952.1 calibre. Comprising 556 individual parts—223 of which are dedicated solely to the perpetual calendar mechanism—the movement is assembled twice by hand in true A. Lange & Söhne tradition.
The flyback chronograph uses a classic column-wheel transmission and a precisely jumping minute counter, while the perpetual calendar automatically tracks varying month lengths and leap years until March 1, 2100. A rapid-correction pusher at 10 o’clock allows for simultaneous adjustment of all calendar displays.
