Panerai welcomes underwater photographer Rafael Fernández Caballero as the new Panerai Spain ambassador, Friend of the Brand for Spain. With this appointment, Rafael will join the international community of explorers, athletes, and professionals representing the brand, taking its watches into the field and putting them to the test in real-world conditions, where performance is validated through experience.

Recognized as one of the most prominent figures in underwater photography today, Rafael Fernández Caballero has built a career dedicated to exploring and documenting the marine world. An engineer by training, professional diver, and instructor, he has been honored with awards such as Ocean Photographer of the Year 2024 and Underwater Photographer of the Year 2022. He is currently a National Geographic ambassador and leads expeditions to some of the most remote places on earth, where he documents unique ocean stories.
With this collaboration, Panerai positions the Submersible collection exactly where it was born to be: in the ocean. Rafael Fernández Caballero’s career as an underwater photographer, professional diver, and expedition leader takes him to explore some of the most demanding marine environments on the planet, from the waters of Antarctica to remote ocean ecosystems where pressure, currents, low visibility, and extreme temperatures test both human capability and equipment reliability.
