A. Lange & Söhne Cabaret Tourbillon Honeygold

The manufacture A. Lange & Söhne has presented its new Cabaret Tourbillon Honeygold. A new variation of its unmistakable rectangular watch in a limited edition of 50 pieces. Its case and dial are made of 750 honey gold (HONEYGOLD®). The dial’s reliefs, finished with utmost precision, stand out strikingly against the black rhodium-plated background, lending a three-dimensional effect to this watch equipped with a stop-seconds mechanism for the tourbillon.

The CABARET TOURBILLON presented in 2008 by A. Lange & Söhne was the world’s first watch equipped with a stop-seconds mechanism for the tourbillon, establishing a milestone in the history of precision watchmaking. Since then, several models from the manufacture have incorporated this practical function. This new release with a honey gold case continues that tradition.

In this new model, a 750 honey gold case and dial have been combined. This rare composition of Lange’s exclusive material lends the watch a particularly elegant aura. Its warm glow contrasts strikingly with the black rhodium-plated dial, on which the relief of the finely finished details stands out. An aperture at 6 o’clock draws attention to the tourbillon with its stop-seconds mechanism, whose upper bridge and the upper part of the cage are decorated with an elaborate black polish.

The black rhodium-plated honey gold dial of the CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD is manufactured entirely in-house. It is composed of three parts: the main dial and two auxiliary dials for the small seconds and the UP/DOWN power reserve indicator. The two frames, the scales, and the A. LANGE & SÖHNE inscription are meticulously worked until they stand 0.15 millimetres proud of the dial material. All three dial parts are then black rhodium-plated. The finishes on the embossed elements are then carefully hand-polished so that the honey gold shines through once again in all its brilliance against the dark background. Next, the Roman numerals III, IX, and XII, the six diamond-shaped hour markers, and the frame of the outsize date—all finely polished—are placed on the dial. Finally, the auxiliary dials are joined to the main dial from behind. Several weeks pass between the first and last steps of this laborious work.

The case measures 29.5 × 39.2 mm with a thickness of 10.3 millimetres. It features sapphire crystal on both the front and the back. Looking through the sapphire crystal caseback, one can observe the technical complexity and

mechanical beauty of the manually wound calibre L042.1, composed of 370 elements. The tourbillon alone consists of 84 parts, with a total weight of barely a quarter of a gram. The twin mainspring barrel provides a generous power reserve of 120 hours, and the balance wheel beats at a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour.

The refined color contrast between the warm brilliance of the honey gold case and the black rhodium-plated dial is complemented by the dark brown of the alligator leather strap and the honey gold of the prong buckle. The CABARET TOURBILLON HONEYGOLD is Lange’s 18th model in honey gold. It will be presented at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in mid-May 2026 at Lake Como. A.Lange & Söhne
