Zenith G.F.J. Calibre 135 Double Signed Naoya Hida & Co.

The manufacture Zenith has presented a new version of its G.F.J., the Zenith G.F.J. CALIBRE 135 DOUBLE SIGNED WITH NAOYA HIDA & CO. A new interpretation of the G.F.J. created together with the independent watchmaking brand Naoya Hida & Co., whose precise and understated design language brings a unique perspective to the Calibre 135. An exclusive limited edition of 10 double-signed pieces.

“Double Signed is an invitation to dialogue, participation, and creative exchange. It brings to life new interpretations based on respect for the original creation. Familiar lines take on a new meaning, and beauty emerges from differences, as well as continuity. I am very grateful to Naoya Hida for bringing his precise and understated design language to the G.F.J., permeating it with a refined sense of balance and depth that pays tribute to its legacy while projecting it into the future.”

Benoît de Clerck, CEO of ZENITH WATCHES

“The Calibre 135 has captivated me since I discovered it in the 1990s. Receiving the opportunity to reinterpret the G.F.J. with ZENITH was a delightful surprise. The idea was to capture the atmosphere and spirit of the Calibre 135 era from a modern perspective. My goal was an understated result, but with great depth… Passion is essential in watchmaking; without it, it cannot exist. My greatest joy is being able to create a watch like this, one that truly means something to me.”

Naoya Hida, founder and CEO of NAOYA HIDA & Co.

Zenith G.F.J. Calibre 135 Double Signed Naoya Hida & Co.

We have already seen other models from the G.F.J. collection, a watch we first discovered in 2025 and of which two new versions have been presented this year at Watches and Wonders. Now, Zenith partners with Naoya Hida to bring to life the first “Double Signed” creation, the Zenith G.F.J. Calibre 135 Double Signed Naoya Hida & Co. Founded in Japan in 2018, the independent watch brand combines meticulous attention to detail with a deep appreciation for the golden age of mechanical watchmaking.

The dial, crafted from solid silver, reflects this precise and understated design philosophy. All indications, including the double ZENITH and Naoya Hida & Co. signature, are meticulously hand-engraved by master engraver Keisuke Kano and filled with blue Japanese urushi lacquer. The two slender, gently rounded hour and minute hands are CNC-milled from solid gold and subsequently hand-polished, while the small seconds hand, in steel, is heat-treated to achieve a deep blue tone.

The case is made of platinum and measures 39.15 mm in diameter with a thickness of 10.5 mm. It features sapphire crystal on both the front and the exhibition caseback.

Inside, it features the elegant architecture of the manual-winding Calibre 135. The design presents the decoration introduced in the latest editions of the G.F.J., with Côtes de Genève and delicate hand-finished bevels, enhanced by a contemporary dark ruthenium finish and highlighted with yellow gold-colored engravings. Beating at a frequency of 2.5 Hz, the movement is equipped with a large variable-inertia balance wheel with a Breguet hairspring, as well as Charles Fleck’s characteristic double-arrow regulator. It offers a 72-hour power reserve and incorporates a hacking seconds mechanism. Regulated to an accuracy of +/-2 seconds per day, the Calibre 135 is COSC-certified.

The G.F.J. Double Signed with Naoya Hida & Co. comes equipped with three straps. The first design is crafted from Himeji Kurozan leather, an exclusive material from Japan, celebrated for its opulent texture and depth. The second strap is made of Wagyu leather, refined using traditional techniques by Kyoto Leather artisans. The third model, in a deep indigo blue, is made with rigid Japanese denim from the famous Kaihara Denim mill. The platinum pin buckle is engraved with the initials G.F.J.
