Originally created as a central plot device in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph has become one of the brand’s most iconic watches linked to cinema. Following the success of its scaled-down version, Hamilton expands the collection with a new interpretation housed in the 38mm case, paying tribute to the vastness of space with a cosmic-inspired blue dial.

The defining feature of this execution lies in its dial finish, engineered to evoke the journey of an interstellar comet. The center boasts a bright blue hue that simulates the glow of ionized gases illuminated by sunlight, gradually fading into deep black towards the outer edge to mirror the depth of space. A pronounced, star-dust-inspired grainy texture adds visual depth and creates dynamic light reflections across the surface.

The timepiece maintains all the signature hallmarks of the Murph lineup, including cathedral hands, subtly domed printed Arabic numerals, and outstanding legibility. The stainless steel case retains its versatile proportions of 38mm in diameter and 11.1mm in thickness, housing the automatic Calibre H-10 movement inside, complete with an 80-hour power reserve.
Despite offering a remarkable quality-to-price ratio within the entry-level Swiss luxury segment, the absence of a screw-down crown is a noticeable omission. Although the case is rated to a water resistance of 10 bar (100 meters), incorporating a screw-down system would have provided an essential extra layer of technical reassurance and peace of mind for a watch designed as a daily field companion.
