To celebrate its historic ties with Eastern culture—a relationship dating back to the mid-19th century—Vacheron Constantin unveils the latest installment of its acclaimed Métiers d’Art The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac series. Dedicated to the Year of the Goat, this release is presented in two strictly limited editions of 25 pieces each, crafted in 18k 5N pink gold and 950 platinum.

High Craftsmanship: Relief Engraving, Grand Feu Enamel, and Miniature Painting
The dial of this miniature work of art dispenses entirely with traditional hands to become a three-dimensional canvas. At its center stands the majestic figure of a goat hand-sculpted in pink or white gold, positioned on a rock meticulously hand-engraved using relief techniques. The engraving and detailing process of the animal alone requires three full days of painstaking work by the Maison’s master artisans.

The background combines two highly demanding disciplines: multicolored Grand Feu enamel with a subtle gradient and miniature painting to recreate the delicate foliage. The dial plate undergoes successive kiln firings at temperatures exceeding 800 °C over a process that spans two weeks.

In-House Calibre 2460 G4: Mechanical Excellence Supporting Artistic Expression
To leave the entire dial available for artistic expression, Vacheron Constantin utilizes the self-winding In-House Calibre 2460 G4. This sophisticated movement displays time indications through four peripheral apertures: trailing hours and minutes on the upper portion, accompanied by jumping day-of-the-week and date displays on the lower section.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement reveals an openworked 22k yellow gold oscillating weight decorated with the Maltese Cross, along with Fine Watchmaking finishes such as Côtes de Genève, circular graining, and hand-beveled bridges. The entire timepiece holds the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva.
