MIDO enriches the iconic Ocean Star 200 family with a new reference that decisively embraces graphic contrast and monochromatic minimalism. While maintaining the robust technical architecture that has established this collection as one of the most reliable and competitive Swiss-made entry-level divers under €1,000, this release stands out with a grained white dial paired with a black bezel and matching inner flange.

Instinctive Legibility and High-Contrast Visual Architecture
The true highlights of this reference lie within its dial composition. MIDO opted for a textured white granolated background set against applied indices finished with polished black borders and filled with white Super-LumiNova. The entire layout is framed by a black inner flange featuring the minute track and seamlessly integrated day-date window at 3 o’clock.
The brand’s signature touch comes in vibrant MIDO orange, highlighted on the “Caliber 80” inscription and the tip of the central sweep seconds hand. The main diamond-cut hour and minute hands feature a central groove, ensuring immediate legibility under any lighting conditions or underwater.

Ergonomic 41 mm Case and 20 ATM Water Resistance
The 41 mm stainless steel case combines satin-brushed flanks with polished bevels[cite: 1]. Featuring a compact 47.03 mm lug-to-lug length, it offers a confident yet comfortable wrist presence[cite: 1]. The unidirectional rotating bezel houses a black aluminum ring with a 60-minute scale and a Super-LumiNova® dot at 12 o’clock.
To ensure water resistance up to 20 bar (200 meters / 660 feet), the structure is equipped with a screw-down crown with lateral guards and sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The case back pays homage to the maritime heritage of the collection—launched back in 1944—with its signature engraved starfish in relief. The steel bracelet incorporates a folding clasp with a diving extension and MIDO’s quick-change strap system.

Efficient Mechanics: Caliber 80 with Nivachron™ Hairspring
At its mechanical heart beats the proven MIDO Caliber 80 (built upon the ETA C07.621 base). This 25-jewel automatic movement runs at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and offers an extended power reserve of up to 80 hours. The inclusion of a high-tech Nivachron balance spring significantly enhances resistance to everyday magnetic fields and shock, ensuring long-term chronometric stability.
