Welcome to our dedicated space for MB&F (Maximilian Büsser & Friends), the revolutionary Geneva-based artistic concept laboratory founded in 2005. Turning traditional watchmaking upside down, MB&F does not create conventional timepieces—it crafts three-dimensional kinetic sculptures that happen to tell time. By bringing together independent master watchmakers, movement designers, and case artisans (the “Friends”), founder Maximilian Büsser has built one of the most celebrated and visionary names in modern independent horology.
Here, you will find in-depth technical reviews, mechanical sculpture breakdowns, and movement architectural evaluations covering the peak of avant-garde micromechanics.
Horological Machines (HM): Radical, futuristic time-telling sculptures inspired by jet engines, space travel, automotive design, and organic animal forms (such as HM10 Bulldog and HM9 Flow).
Legacy Machines (LM): Reimagining what MB&F would have created 100 years ago. Defined by round classical cases housing dramatic suspended balance wheels floating high above the dial side.
LM Sequential EVO & Perpetual: Game-changing high complications created with master watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, featuring revolutionary dual-chronograph lap-timer architectures and mechanical memory perpetual calendars.
Co-Creations & Performance Art: Kinetic desktop clocks and mechanical art objects crafted in collaboration with historic houses like L’Epée 1839 and Swiss music box makers Reuge.
MB&F operates on absolute transparency and creative freedom, celebrating every artisan involved by inscribing their names inside movement cases and literature. Powered by bespoke calibers featuring soaring suspended balance wheels, flying tourbillons, and complex planetary gears, MB&F merges traditional hand-finishing with science-fiction aesthetics to redefine what high watchmaking can be.
