Panerai has officially broken new ground within its legendary professional diving family. The Florentine maison has unveiled the Panerai Submersible PAM01756. This release marks a significant milestone for the brand: it is the very first time a 44mm Submersible case is paired with an integrated metallic bracelet.

Conceived strictly as a high-performance diving instrument, every single aesthetic and technical choice on this timepiece serves a direct, uncompromising purpose—faithfully honoring Panerai’s history of crafting precision sea instruments since the early 20th century.

A Crown-Guard Inspired Steel Bracelet with Quick Adjustment
While Panerai’s relationship with metallic bracelets dates back to 1999, the new PAM01756 redefines ergonomics for the Submersible line. Made from AISI 316LVM stainless steel (grade 1.4441) for superior maritime corrosion resistance, the bracelet links are masterfully sculpted to evoke the silhouette of the brand’s iconic patented crown-protecting bridge.
Furthermore, this model introduces a groundbreaking functionality for the line: the Quick Length Adjustment system. This practical complication allows the wearer to expand or contract the bracelet by 2 mm on each side without using any tools, instantly adapting to the natural micro-swelling of the wrist caused by temperature changes or long-haul travel.

Pure Horological Symmetry: The Return of the “No-Date” Dial
For purists and vintage Panerai collectors, the face of the PAM01756 is a true masterclass in symmetry. The watch features a clean “No-Date” configuration. Historically, Panerai references produced before 1998 skipped the date window entirely to maximize reading efficiency during demanding naval operations.
By eliminating the date window, the dial layout is uncluttered and exclusively dedicated to timekeeping and tracking dive durations. To elevate visual contrast, the deep black dial features a brushed sunburst finish (rayos de sol). This technique catches and reflects light from the center, adding depth and dynamic texture depending on the viewing angle.
At 9 o’clock, the black small seconds subdial is enhanced with an elegant azurage pattern (engraved concentric circles). This subdial retains an essential historical code: a rapid visual confirmation for the diver that the watch movement is actively running underwater.

High Contrast, Professional Luminiscence, and Ocean Hues
The striking aesthetic contrast is defined by the polished blue ceramic bezel insert. Renowned for its extreme scratch resistance, the ocean-blue hue brings a technical yet refined personality to one of the most exposed parts of the watch.
Legibility remains paramount, supported by a dual-tone luminescent signature layout optimized for deep-sea exploration:
- Daytime Reading: Hands and applied round hour markers are filled with clean white Super-LumiNova®.
- Nighttime Reading: The hour markers and hour hand glow in vibrant green, while the minute hand and the bezel’s 12 o’clock pip glow in electric blue. This color separation ensures intuitive reading of diving time at a single glance.

Heavy-Duty Manufacture Caliber: The P.980
Under the solid steel caseback—which is screw-down and proudly engraved with the historical Italian maiale slow-speed torpedo—beats the in-house automatic Caliber P.980.
Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it features a rock-solid transversal balance bridge designed to withstand severe shock and vibrations. It is equipped with a stop-seconds function that halts the small seconds hand instantly when the crown is pulled, allowing for precise tactical synchronization. The single-barrel architecture provides a reliable 3-day power reserve.
🌊 Over-Engineering the Depth Limits
Every single PAM01756 is strictly tested at Panerai’s manufacture in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. To guarantee its professional 50 bar (~500 meters / 1,640 feet) water resistance, the watch is subjected to combined air and water pressure tests that exceed its official rating by 25%.
