MB&F commemorates the fifteenth anniversary of the launch that inaugurated its acclaimed historical collection with the introduction of the new Legacy Machine N°1 EVO. Fifteen years after the original LM1 re-defined independent watchmaking with its three-dimensional architecture and won both the Public Prize and Best Men’s Watch Prize at the 2012 GPHG, Maximilian Büsser’s conceptual laboratory brings its first dual time zone back to life, adapting it to the performance standards of the EVO collection.

Back to the Future: Everyday EVO Architecture
The LM1 EVO preserves the aesthetic pillars that made the original model famous, highlighting two independent dials that allow full autonomy when managing two time zones—capable of accommodating half-hour or quarter-hour offsets—and the monumental suspended 14 mm central balance wheel. However, the structure has been thoroughly redesigned to deliver superior ergonomics and versatility tailored for active daily wear.

The case reduces its diameter to 42 mm (down from the original 44 mm) and dispenses with a traditional bezel to maximize visibility through its steeply domed sapphire crystals. Fitted with MB&F’s patented FlexRing annular shock-absorption system and screw-down crowns, the timepiece ensures a notable water resistance of 80 meters, complete with an interchangeable rubber strap system.

Enhanced Mechanics: 60-Hour Power Reserve & Double Straumann® Balance Spring
On the technical front, the hand-wound movement developed alongside Jean-François Mojon with finishing specifications by Kari Voutilainen increases its power reserve to 60 hours. The iconic vertical sextant-style power reserve indicator gives way to a sportier inclined subdial positioned at 6 o’clock.

The majestic 14 mm balance wheel features a state-of-the-art double Straumann® balance spring—two identical hairsprings mounted in opposing directions to counteract center-of-gravity displacements—brought to the forefront via a redesigned titanium bridge. Composed of 270 components and 25 jewels, the calibre displays extraordinary hand-finishing, including gold chatons with polished countersinks, hand-bevelled internal angles, and Côtes de Genève motifs.
