Twelve years. A dozen trips around the sun, observing time under a different light.
When I founded Debajo del Reloj twelve years ago, I had a clear vision: the industry was saturated with cold technical specifications and sterile catalog photography. I felt there was a different, better way. I decided to start telling the stories hidden behind every timepiece and every caliber—but, above all, I chose to show them in a new light, combining striking imagery with a personal, compelling narrative.

The Light as an Interpreter: My Obsession with Materials
My true differentiator hasn’t just been “what” I tell, but “how” I reveal it. I’ve spent years perfecting a visual narrative where light is the absolute protagonist. I don’t just photograph a watch; I craft and manipulate light to reveal its true character.

The Technique Behind the Image
Whether I am enhancing the brushed finish of steel, highlighting the depth of a dial, or capturing the warmth of a precious metal, my work is about understanding the material and tailoring every gleam to showcase its essence. I strive for fidelity, not artifice. My goal is for the image to be a truthful mirror of the object’s beauty, revealing textures and nuances that often go unnoticed under conventional lighting.
For me, photography is the tool that allows every Debajo del Reloj follower to not just see an object, but to feel the engineering and quality of its materials. I have always avoided the “easy” or generic shot, because I believe haute horlogerie deserves an artistic and technical perspective that goes far beyond mere documentation.

Thank You for Being Part of the Journey
Looking back, I am filled with gratitude.
- To my readers: Thank you for making Debajo del Reloj a benchmark where aesthetics and technical expertise walk hand in hand.
- To the watchmakers: Thank you for the trust you have placed in this project for the past 12 years. Your support has been essential in transforming “Debajo del Reloj” from a personal endeavor into the media platform it is today.
The Future: Evolving Our Essence
I’ve never been one to stand still. I have spent the last few months working on an integral evolution of our platform.
We are launching a new visual identity, deeper articles, and a redesigned web experience—all designed to amplify the power of our stories and, especially, the visual impact of our photography. I remain committed to content that bridges horological rigor with modern storytelling, offering an immersive experience for every reader.
Thank you for 12 years of trust. We are just beginning to write the next chapter.ítulo.
