Haute horlogerie engineered for world travelers has always been a core canvas for Bovet. We have seen memorable timepieces capable of mastering time zones flawlessly, such as the Récital 28 Prowess One or the three-time-zone Récital 27. However, there was a classic complication strangely absent from their permanent catalog: a true, standalone GMT.
That wait is over. Under the bold vision of Pascal Raffy, owner of the Maison, the new Bovet Récital 32 is born. This timepiece does not merely add a second hour hand; it is a mechanical symphony that condenses an expanded flying tourbillon and an astounding power reserve inside the brand’s most compact tourbillon case to date.
High Complication in a Sleek 42 mm Footprint
Traditionally, Bovet’s tourbillon watches inhabit imposing cases due to the extreme complexity of their independent movements. Clear examples include the 46.3 mm Récital 28 (housing 744 components) or the 44 mm Virtuoso VIII.
The primary challenge with the Récital 32 was scaling down the dimensions to transform it into an ideal watch for daily wear. The manufacture’s team of master watchmakers and engineers successfully integrated a complex 375-component movement into a case measuring just 42 mm.
How did they achieve this? By utilizing a box-style sapphire crystal and elevating the patented flying tourbillon above the mainplate. Consequently, the beating heart of the watch not only fits a more stylized space but also becomes dramatically more visible and spectacular from the front and sides.

An Intuitive GMT Designed for Frequent Flyers
The off-centered dial at 12 o’clock features eight layers of lacquer over a mesmerizing blue guilloché background, displaying the local time. It is accompanied by a day/night indicator disc and surrounded by a 24-hour scale where the GMT hand operates independently.
Its functionality is remarkably simple and instinctive:
- Dedicated Pusher: Located at 10 o’clock, it allows the user to advance the second time zone hand quickly and effortlessly.
- Efficient Winding Mechanism: Thanks to Bovet’s patented spherical winding system, the energy the mainspring receives per crown turn is doubled. This allows its single barrel to supply an incredible 10-day power reserve, monitored via a mechanical roller indicator.

“Étoiles Carrées”: Pure Hand-Engraved Craftsmanship
Bovet remains one of the very few watch brands with absolute vertical integration, manufacturing over 95% of its components in-house, including the balance spring and the regulating organ. This obsession with the human touch is on full display across the finishes of the Récital 32.
While every single movement component is hand-finished, the true spectacle reveals itself on the reverse side. The back bridges showcase a completely new pattern developed by the Maison’s master engravers called “étoiles carrées” (square stars). This painstaking work requires a minimum of 15 hours of exclusive dedication per piece to achieve a texture that plays brilliantly with light.
The Bovet Récital 32 transcends simple utility to become a manifesto for the contemporary traveler. It is a piece of high craftsmanship that whispers stories of international adventures in a compact, refined format—tailored for collectors who want to feel every second.
