Grönefeld

Grönefeld Watches: Masterpieces of Independent Horology, Stainless Steel Bridges, and Constant Force

Welcome to our dedicated space for Grönefeld, the independent manufacture known worldwide as “The Horological Brothers.” Founded in Oldenzaal, Netherlands, by Bart and Tim Grönefeld—third-generation watchmakers trained in the highest realms of Swiss haute horlogerie—the brand stands among the most decorated independent names in modern watchmaking. Renowned for their signature stainless steel movement bridges, exceptional hand-finishing, and clever mechanical solutions like 8-second remontoires, Grönefeld timepieces represent a perfect blend of Dutch ingenuity and classical craftsmanship.

Here, you will find in-depth technical reviews, movement finishing analysis, and caliber architecture breakdowns covering one of independent watchmaking’s most prized manufactures.

Iconic Grönefeld Collections

Precision, Stainless Steel Bridges & Artisanal Finishing

Unlike traditional Swiss manufactures that build movement plates and bridges out of brass or German silver, Grönefeld crafts its movement bridges out of solid stainless steel. This notoriously difficult material requires grueling hours of hand-polishing to achieve mirror-polished bevels (anglage), frosted centers, and relief-engraved inscriptions. With extremely limited annual production, every Grönefeld watch is an heirloom-grade statement of independent watchmaking perfection.
