Jaeger-LeCoultre has presented its popular Polaris Date 40 mm watch. A new model that pays tribute to its diving legacy and vintage appeal in a 40 mm diameter format, which improves comfort, ergonomics, and versatility.

“The powerful lines and well-defined aesthetics of the Polaris infuse the collection with its sporty personality, giving it true elegance and an endless spirit of adventure.”
Lionel Favre, Design Director
Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date 40 mm
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date is one of my favorite watches, because of the balance between sporty and elegant style, and the combination of colors and finishes displayed on both its case and caliber, as well as its beautiful dial. Now it arrives in a size that will suit more modest wrists and contemporary tastes.

The iconic dial of the Polaris Date requires a long and meticulous process. After executing the grained and sunray finishes, seven layers of colored lacquer and 35 layers of translucent lacquer are successively applied. Finally, these layers are meticulously hand-polished to create the fascinating double-gradient dial with great visual depth.

To offer optimal legibility, the dial features a balanced combination of opaline, grained, and sunray-finished surfaces, which clearly define each key segment of the dial. The striking trapezoidal indices, Arabic numerals, and skeletonized hands are coated with blue Super-LumiNova and are clearly distinguishable, both day and night.

The Polaris Date features a more compact 40 mm case with a thinner 12.9 mm profile to preserve the ideal proportions of its design. The case features sharp lines, sharply curved lugs, a beveled crystal, and an appealing combination of brushed and polished surfaces. It incorporates a rotating inner bezel, controlled by the crown at the 2 o’clock position, allowing the wearer to measure time intervals or count down. It has water resistance up to 20 bar (200 meters).

Equipped with the robust automatic Calibre 899 from the Manufacture. This self-winding mechanical movement offers a power reserve of 70 hours. It consists of 218 parts featuring decorations such as Côtes de Genève, circular graining, beveling, polished screws, and linear and circular brushing.

The strap is made of blue textile with a steel folding clasp.
