We continue our in-depth analysis of the latest releases presented during the most recent edition of Watches and Wonders. This time, we take a closer look at the novelties from Tudor, one of the brands that sparked the highest expectations in Geneva and whose pieces we had the opportunity to examine up close in our photography studio.
This year’s collection stands out for consolidating the aesthetic identity of its most iconic models while introducing significant technical refinements, improved bracelets, and a compelling reinterpretation of classic lines. Below, we review the brand’s key timepieces: the Black Bay 54 Blue, Black Bay 58, Black Bay Ceramic, Tudor Monarch, and Tudor Royal.
TUDOR BLACK BAY 54 BLUE
The Black Bay 54 is arguably the most faithful interpretation of Tudor’s historic dive watch heritage, featuring well-balanced proportions with a 37 mm diameter and a slender profile measuring just 11.2 mm in thickness. This version pays homage to the legendary «Tudor Blue» with a domed dial boasting a subtle sunray satin finish and a matching blue aluminum bezel.
Among its vintage flourishes, the iconic «Snowflake» hands—a brand hallmark since 1969—stand out with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova® coating, alongside a classic «lollipop» seconds hand. The design is completed by a three-link stainless steel bracelet equipped with Tudor’s practical «T-fit» rapid-adjustment clasp.
Inside ticks the Manufacture Calibre MT5400, a COSC-certified self-winding movement featuring a bidirectional rotor that offers a robust 70-hour power reserve and a guaranteed water resistance down to 200 meters (660 ft).
TUDOR BLACK BAY 58
The Black Bay 58 evolves to solidify its status as the core pillar of Tudor’s catalog. It retains its highly coveted classic 39 mm diameter while redesigning the case to achieve an even sleeker profile at just 11.7 mm thick. Visually, it stands out with a matte black domed dial that streamlines its text to just two lines, the addition of a «lollipop» seconds hand, and a redesigned crown aligned seamlessly with the case middle.
This update also introduces the option of a sophisticated five-link steel bracelet (alongside three-link steel and rubber strap options), all equipped with the «T-fit» micro-adjustment system for maximum wrist comfort. The unidirectional anodized aluminum bezel features enhanced grip teeth and subtly curved numerals following the outer ring’s contour.
Mechanically, it represents a major leap forward by incorporating the Manufacture Calibre MT5400-U, backed by the stringent Master Chronometer certification from METAS (in addition to COSC). This benchmark guarantees outstanding precision, 200-meter water resistance, a 65-hour power reserve, and anti-magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss.
TUDOR BLACK BAY CERAMIC
The Black Bay Ceramic represents the ultimate expression of Tudor’s high-tech design language and material science innovation. Its crowning achievement is the development of a new, fully matching all-ceramic bracelet featuring a patented double-folding clasp design—a major engineering feat given the technical challenges of working with ceramic for individual links.
Its 41 mm monobloc case displays a matte black micro-blasted finish with bevel-polished edges that contrast with the black PVD unidirectional bezel and sunray satin ceramic insert. Aesthetically, it fully embraces an all-black look with a domed anthracite dial and applied hour markers filled with dark luminescent material.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5602-U, certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS and COSC. This Movement ensures a 70-hour power reserve, 200 meters of water resistance, and extraordinary magnetic field resistance up to 15,000 gauss.
TUDOR MONARCH
The Tudor Monarch revives a historic nameplate to present one of the most distinctive and intriguing timepieces in the entire collection. Its 39 mm stainless steel case (with a comfortable thickness of 11.9 mm) features finely faceted, sharp lines, paired with an integrated two-link bracelet equipped with the «T-fit» rapid-adjustment system.
Its most unique trait lies in the dark champagne dial, whose texture and tone recall classic papyrus. This dial displays an unusual «error-proof» layout combining applied Roman numerals (from 10 to 2) with Arabic numerals (from 4 to 8). This neo-classic design pays tribute to the brand’s early visual language.
Powering the watch is the Manufacture Calibre MT5662-2U, certified by both METAS Master Chronometer and COSC. This movement showcases traditional high-horology decorations—such as Côtes de Genève, perlage, and an 18k gold rotor inlay—delivering a 65-hour power reserve, water resistance up to 100 meters, and magnetic resistance to 15,000 gauss.
TUDOR ROYAL
The Tudor Royal range embodies the ideal balance between formal elegance and sportiness. Defined by its integrated metal bracelet and notched bezel, the brand enriches the collection with new dial colorways and case sizes. A versatile timepiece highlighting Tudor’s dedication to refinement and internal movement reliability.
